The jury placed Lisbon ahead of cities such as San Francisco (USA) and Vienna (Austria), highlighting the construction of the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT), in Belém, and the inaugural edition of the ARCOLisboa art fair, as well as the Architecture Triennale.
The new cruise terminal, designed by architect João Luís Carrilho da Graça, was also part of the jury’s choices that gave victory to the city of Lisbon.
It should be noted that Wallpaper is one of the most prestigious and influential publications in the field of design and already in 2015 had distinguished the Portuguese brand Vista Alegre as the winner of the “Best Coffee and Cake” category.
